The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and Badminton World Federation (BWF) have renewed their collective efforts to mark the countdown to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Although the event was postponed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, IPC and BWF believe in looking ahead with optimism.
To re-imagine the countdown and fill the void of the one-year wait, fans can catch a special movie on Netflix called “Rising Phoenix”, which will be shown in 190 countries from 26 August.
The trailer, available from today, shows the power of these amazing Paralympians.
To further whet your appetite as we #WaitForTheGreats, the IPC will run live Instagram relays with members of the global Paralympic movement and launch the first of its weekly podcast, in partnership with Allianz, on 28 August.
Furthermore, Paralympians will be asking fans to partake in Paralympic challenges across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and Tik Tok.
Some of Para badminton’s biggest stars will also be featured right here on our website as we #WaitForTheGreats.
The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will run from 24 August to 5 September 2021. Para badminton action starts on 2 September.
